Psalm 96

1    Sing to the Lord a new song; 

sing to the Lord, all the earth. 

2    Sing to the Lord, praise his name; 

proclaim his salvation day after day. 

3    Declare his glory among the nations, 

his marvelous deeds among all peoples.

Some have criticized the message of the Gospel in rap music, claiming it as being Satan's possession.  Roots In Christ Ministries recognizes that the authorship of Psalms predates rap music.  We accuse Satan of mocking God by repurposing the spoken word from the purpose of glorifying God.  If God calls the believer to sing a new song, then the heart of the true worshipper can use any medium.  Satan is the perpetrator, God is the Creator!

 

All good things come from God and He can redeem and use various forms of art and music for His glory. It's a call for believers to look beyond the surface and to evaluate the intent, message, and impact of music through a lens of faith and scripture.
